The import tariff surcharges established by Ecuador’s Committee of Foreign Trade via Resolution No.11-2015 in March 2015 continued to have a significant influence in spreads in 2016. Chocolate spreads was among the categories most affected, with a surcharge of 45% being applied to imports of this product type.
