In 2015, Lactalis Group entered the Mexican cheese category with the acquisition of Derivados Lácteos La Esmeralda. In addition to the local brands of La Esmeralda that the new owner will continue producing and supporting, the new subsidiary, Lactalis Alimentos México, will also sell some of the group’s international brands. For example, during 2016 Lactalis launched the Societé, Président Flor de Esgueva and Galbani brands.
