Aquaculture did not record too many changes in the first quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, seafood export value increased by nearly X% over the same period in 2021 – reaching a record value.

In terms of the processed vegetables and fruits sector, despite being hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, it still maintained a high export value due to aggressive trade promotion and improved product quality. However, the exports of vegetables and fruits to China market - the primary market of Vietnam, witnessed a sharp decrease because the epidemic situation in the Chinese market worsened, and China's current anti-epidemic policy, the impact of the blockade orders hampered the supply of Vietnamese fruits and vegetables to this market.

Although the Covid-19 epidemic is complicated, the food processing industry is forecasted to be unaffected because it is an essential consumer industry, with the exception of the starch processing industry, which will be affected because China is its primary export market.
