In 2009 the output of raw coal rose by 12.69% to 2.965 billion tons from the previous year. The consumer confidence index in the coal industry showed marked recovery. Under the policy guidance of encouraging coal imports and restricting coal exports, the import of coal exports demonstrated rapid growth and the export, however, showed continuous slump.
