Operations in the companys network of 102 subsidiaries and 9 affiliated companies were conducted under four main business divisions: the Automobiles division, the Aerospace division, the Industrial Products division, and the Other division.
Automobiles division: Automobiles divisions main products include Legacy, Impreza, Forester, Tribeca, Stella, R1, R2, Pleo, and Samber.
Industrial Products division: Industrial Products divisions main products include robin engines, power generators, and pumps.
Aerospace division: Aerospace divisions main products are aircraft and parts of space-related devices.
Other division: Other divisions main products are garbage collection vehicles, specialized vehicles, and real estate lease.
Alliance with the Toyota Group: The company, in April 2008, reached an agreement with Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) and Daihatsu to build a new cooperative framework for vehicle development and production. The agreement has three main components: joint development with Toyota of the compact FR (front engine, rear-wheel drive) sporty car, to be marketed by both companies; supply of compact cars to FHI by Toyota on an OEM basis; and supply of minicars to FHI by Daihatsu on an OEM basis.
