Invista has developed a new range of fabrics for apparel called the Cordura Apparel Fabric Collection. Quiksilver has developed new board shorts which incorporate compression technology, and Levi Strauss & Co has introduced a new denim apparel range called Commuter by Levi’s which is designed specifically for cyclists.

Karl Mayer has incorporated an eco-friendly dyeing process developed by Clariant International—called the Advanced Denim process—into its Indig-O-Matic machine system. Lenzing has launched a new environmentally-friendly fibre called Modal Edelweiss, and textile screen printing inks developed by Fujifilm Sericol have been approved by Soil Association Certification.

Clariant International has launched two new fabric treatments. The first is a high-tech microencapsulation finish for cosmetotextiles, and the second is a foam finishing product for cotton fabrics which was developed in collaboration with Cotton Incorporated. HeiQ Materials has launched a new textile treatment, called Adaptive, which has dynamic properties that help wearers of garments made from Adaptive treated textiles to feel more comfortable during exercise.

In other news, Banana Flame has introduced a new e-commerce software application which incorporates augmented-reality technology into its online retail store.
