HEADLINE

In mid-Oct., despite the weak demand for fungicide TC, most fungicide manufacturers in China have maintained normal production, and some even increased their operating rates. It's time for the producers to get their goods ready again. Most of them have implemented policies to keep the price unchanged, which will contribute to more deals.

At the end of Oct., agrochemical buyers started replenishing their stock, which has eased the producers' inventory. During the same period, the price of fungicides in China remained stable with slight decreae across the board. In terms of triazole fungicides, most products experienced a drop in their price, except for tebuconazole TC whose price increased slightly. In terms of strobilurin fungicides, the prices of some products remained stable.

Jiangxi Xinzhen plans to continue building capacities of tebuconazole TC, propiconazol TC, hexaconazole TC and flutriafol TC. Prior that investment, Jiangxi Xinzhen has already been implementing a 2,000 t/a difenoconazole TC production line to build its triazole fungicide business. It is worth mentioning that tebuconazole, propiconazol, hexaconazole and flutriafol are excellent triazole fungicides as well, which demonstrates Jiangxi Xinzhen's determination to establish itself as a market leader in the triazole fungicide industry.

Based on the company's plan for future development and the industry trends, Nantong Jiangshan decides to branch out into the business of cyenopyrafen (an insecticide and acaricide), wujunxianan (unofficial name, a fungicide) and clodinafop-propargyl (a herbicide), and will give strategic importance to the commercialisation of the 3 products.

Based on its estimation of the market and the needs for long-term development, Nanjing Weixun has established Guangxi Weixu as wholly-owned subsidiary in the Petrochemical Industrial Park, Tiandong County, Baise City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and will build a new production base over there. The subsidiary will be responsible for the implementation of the production base project, and will further build TC and intermediate capacity in the production base.

On 11 Oct., the CCPIA released the list of '2019 China Top 30 Pesticide Exporters'. Nutrichem ranked third on the list. According to the data and analysis of the GAC and CCM, azoxystrobin was one of Nutrichem major fungicide exports.

ICAMA released for public review the list of 2020's 9th group of agrochemical products to be approved for registration. The 500 billion CFU/g bacillus subtilis TK from Fujian Kaili is on the list. Prior to that, Fujian Kaili had been implementing a 5,000 t/a zhongshengmycin AS, 500 t/a chlorfenapyr·diafenthiuron SC, 1,000 t/a bacillus subtilis TC and 1,000 t/a zhongshengmycin GR project in its existing plant in Changtai Economic Development Zone, Fujian Province.

In early OCt., MOA has been encouraging wheat seed dressing prior to autumn planting to prevent soil-borne, seed-borne pests, underground pests, and seedling-stage pests. According to ICAMA, there are 292 agrochemical products registered for wheat seed dressing.

the Department of Crop Production, MOA issued a notice on the measures to build a green channel in pesticide registration. According to the notice, bio-agrochemicals, alternatives to highly toxic agrochemicals and agrochemicals for specialised minor crops will be fast tracked in their registration, which will promote high-quality and green development of the pesticide industry.

In early Oct., NATESC, as required by the Department of Crop Production, MOA, brought together an expert panel to help promote wheat seed dressing prior to autumn sowing and keep wheat pests and diseases during autumn and winter at bay. The expert panel, based on the occurrence of wheat pests and diseases in reality in recent years, formulated the 2020 Instructions on the Prevention and Control of Wheat Pests and Diseases in Autumn and Winter.
