India is a large exporter of pesticide, dye and pigment in the world. However, its production is now constrained due to the steadily worsening epidemic. Therefore, a number of export orders of the countries are expected to shift to China.
According to CCM's price monitoring, the average ex-works price of prothioconazole TC in May was USD83,211/t (RMB540,000/t), down 0.92% MoM and 6.90% YoY (when measured in RMB). It is worth noting that the ex-works prices of prothioconazole TC has kept decreased since Oct. 2020.
At the end of May, the price of most fungicides in China showed a downward trend compared with that of the previous month, mainly due to weak downstream demand.
At the end of April, CCM learned from Qingdao Hailir that the company's 2,000 t/a prothioconazole TC production facilities have realized stable output since the production line was put into trial production in Sept., 2020. By the end of 2020, altogether 200.45 tonnes of prothioconazole TC have rolled off the production line. The production processes of the line are still being tested, optimised, and upgraded so as to avoid safety hazards and increase productivity.
Hubei Wojia plans to carry out a 300 t/a high-efficiency green agrochemical TC capacity building and 4,500 t/a agrochemical TC technology upgrading project. To be more specific, the project will add 4 new products to the company's agrochemical portfolio, namely, chlorantraniliprole, carfentrazone-ethyl, flutriafol and hexaconazole, and will upgrade the manufacturing technologies of 7 existing products, namely, tebuconazole, propiconazol, azoxystrobin, bentazone, sulfentrazone, metamitron and imazamox.
On May 19, 2021, Jiangsu Lanfeng announced the production suspension of its phosgene synthesis device. Phosgene is the upstream raw materials for the productions of some major products such as pesticides and intermediates f fine chemicals. Therefore, the production suspension will have a certain impact on Jiangsu Lanfeng. According to the import and export data sourced from Tranalysis, in Jan., 2021, China exported 282.76 tonnes (actual volume) or 245.28 tonnes (100% AI volume) of azoxystrobin to 9 main destinations including the US, Uganda and Vietnam.
The fourth list of pesticide products to be approved for registration in 2021 published by ICAMA contains a fungicide for the control of diseases on pseudo-ginseng, which is picoxystrobin 10% CS from Shandong Zhongxin. The product is registered for the control of pseudo-ginseng root rot as well as pseudo-ginseng black spot.
MOA released a notice requiring effort in field management of summer grain in late growing period to resist disasters and ensure a good harvest. Prevention of heavy precipitation, strong wind, hail, dry, hot wind, bad weather and rain should be done to ensure the safety, maturity and harvest of summer grain.
Wheat crops in Hebei Province have started heading, a critical period for wheat production. However, wheat stripe rust is spreading at a faster pace in wheat planting areas in the central part of the province. It's necessary to take prevention and control measures against the disease.
