In the morning of 11 Oct., an unmanned operation demonstration was carried out at the pilot demonstration site of Jiangsanjiang Unmanned Farm, the world's first unmanned farm of over 10,000 mu jointly built by Country Garden and Beidahuang. In the demonstration, more than 40 most-advanced agricultural implements and machineries in the world were used in the whole process including farming, planting, managing, harvesting and transporting of rice, corn and soybean. This demonstration not only indicates that important progress has been made in the pilot demonstration project of unmanned farm jointly built by Country Garden and Beidahuang, but makes solid foundation for exploring systematic solution for whole-process unmanned operation for the next step.

On 13 Oct., a team of experts made an on-site inspection at the 'double innovation' base of smart tobacco agriculture which covers more than 5,000 mu (333 ha) of flue-cured tobacco and corn rotation areas in Mile City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province. After inquiry and full discussion, experts agreed that great achievements have been made in the special project 'Cultivation of New Corn Varieties with Stress Resistance, High Yield and Barren Resistance in Southwest and South China' of National Key Research and Development Program 'Breeding of 7 Crops', and the corn variety Chuandan 99 has passed indicator evaluation of major new varieties in this project.

From 19 to 20 Oct., the 28th Beijing Seed Industry Conference and the first Corn Industry Chain Conference of China was held in Beijing. More than 100 representatives of corn seed companies, industry leaders and breeding experts from all over the country gathered to discuss the development plan of corn seed industry. An activity 'Honorary Hall' for corn variety recommendation was held on the Conference. After expert evaluation, 20 corn varieties were selected from more than 16,000 corn varieties in the country to be awarded the title of 'Honorary Hall', establishing the benchmark for innovation and development in corn seed industry.

On 12 Oct., 2020, the Department of Crop Production, Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China publicized the main crop varieties approved by Sichuan Province on 30 Sept., 2020, and the publicity period is from 12 Oct., 2020 to 30 Oct., 2020. 125 corn varieties, 63 rice varieties, 8 soybean varieties and 6 cotton varieties are inlcuded in the list.

On 12 Oct., 2020, the Department of Crop Production, Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China publicized the list second batch of main crop varieties approved by Shandong Province on 27 Sept., 2020, and the publicity period is from12 Oct., 2020 to 30 Oct., 2020. 37 wheat varieties and 4 rice varieties are includede.

According to China Customs, dual MoM increases were seen in import and export of vegetable seed in Sept., 2020. China exported 321,196 kg of vegetable seed in the month, with the value of USD5,987,638, up by 51.35% and 19.60% MoM, respectively. A total of 7,269,831 kg of vegetable seed were imported to China in Sept. 2020, with the value of USD17,376,317, up by 33.42% MoM.

According to China Customs, China's import and export of corn seed in Sept., 2020 both went up MoM. Specifically, China imported 1,130 kg of corn seed in Sept., 2020, with the value of USD6,259, up significantly by 756.06% and 150.76% MoM. China exported 33,480 kg of corn seed in Sept., 2020, with the value of USD82,489, went up by 128.92% and 182.01% MoM.
