Uzbekistan to build plastic production plant

Central Asian republic, Uzbekistan is planning to invest in the construction of an industrial plastics production plant in the south eastern city of Kokand.
According to country’s industries ministry, the project, involving an investment of around $19 million, is part of a major regional industrial development scheme for the city.
This will involve a total spend of $116 million over the period 2010 to 2012.
The overall development programme, approved in January, is set to include 40 separate projects in the chemical, automotive, oil and gas, electrical, food and construction fields over three years.
