Arkema: Closure of Saint Auban PVC Copolymer Production

21 Sep 2010 • by Natalie Aster

Arkema’s (Colombes / France) final reorganisation concept for its Saint Auban / France site foresees closure of the loss-making vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate copolymer production, with the elimination of 88 jobs. As planned, activities will be refocused on PVC paste, T1.1.1 trichloroethane solvents and caustic soda as well as the exploitation of hydrochloric acid from waste recycling.

Production of the PVC copolymers will cease after completion of employee consultation procedures, and the new organisation will be in place from 1 January 2010.
