LONDON – With many players being active in the world’s mobile phone marketplace, there are companies having big shares in this business. Such market majors comprise: Apple, Samsung, ZTE, Huawei, HTC, and more.

Worldwide shipments of mobile phones amounted to more than 540.1 million units as of Q4 2015. This figure is more than 13 percent higher than it was in Q3 2015 and 1.7 percent higher than it was in Q4 2014.

Apple continued to experience growth in Q4 2015. However, the company is expected to see a decline of its shipment volume in 2016.

In 2015, Huawei became the number one in the global space in terms of shipment volume as they approached to 100 million units.

In Q1 2016, shipment volume of the world’s smartphone industry is forecast to be around 360 million units. This figure is expected to be slightly higher in Q2 2016.
