Chinese Commercial Vehicle Market Reviewed In Comprehensive ResearchInChina Study Available at MarketPublishers.com

LONDON – During 2010-2014, the commercial vehicle sales in China dropped to 4.055 million units, witnessing a share in total auto sales down from 23.8% to 19.7%. In January-September 2015, the commercial vehicles sales reached 2.5087 million units, capturing 14.7% of overall automotive sales.

With respect to models, the sales of trucks grabbed the lion’s share of around 65%; despite a low percentage of around 10%, the bus sales embraced a growing proportion. In the first 9 months of 2015, the sales of trucks and buses, in volume terms, in China accounted for 65.8% and 14.7%, respectively.

During January-September 2015, China exported 257,100 commercial vehicles, making up just over 43% of overall auto exports. Amid them, the exports of buses and trucks reached respectively 195,300 units and 45,800 units. The commercial vehicles are primarily sold to Vietnam, Myanmar and Algeria.

Currently, there are 74 auto manufacturers engaged in selling commercial vehicles, which created a highly competitive marketplace. The most prominent of them are Beiqi Foton, Jinbei Automotive, Dongfeng Motor, Yutong Bus, JMC, JAC and King Long Motor, among others.

As the National IV Motor Vehicle Emission Standards are being phased in nationwide, China's commercial vehicle market is undergoing restructuring. With the release of the Made in China 2025 plan signifies, country is set to further the support for intelligent vehicles and energy-efficient and new energy vehicles (NEVs), which would provide a good development opportunity to traditional commercial vehicle enterprises. To date, Beiqi Foton, JAC, King Long Motor, Dongfeng Motor, Yutong Bus and other commercial vehicle manufacturers are devoted to developing and upgrading novel energy car technologies and launching the products, basically occupying China's new energy commercial vehicle market.
