LONDON – Cabot Microelectronics Corporation announced the completion of acquisition of NexPlanar Corporation. The acquisition agreement was signed on September 27th. The purchase price was approximately USD 142.3 million. NexPlanar specializes in the trade, manufacture and development of advanced CMP pad solutions for the semiconductor industry. The acquisition was funded from Cabot Microelectronics’ available cash balance.
As of FY 2014, the company’s revenues registered a YoY decline from USD 433.1 million to USD 424.7 million. Cabot Microelectronics’ gross profit fell by 4.24%. Operating income and net income decreased by 6.14% (FY 2014 – USD 71.8 million) and 3.42% (FY 2014 – USD 50.8 million), respectively.
