Demand for Potato Flour, Meal, Flakes and Pellets Reached 225,000 Tons in Euro-pean Union

LONDON – After slight decrease in 2009, demand for potato flour, meal, flakes and pellets in 2010 reached 225,000 tons. The production capacity of potato flour and similar products in European Union fully satisfy consumer’s demand. Moreover export share in EU production accounts for 30%.

Germany and Belgium are the main producers of potato flour, meal, flakes and pellets in EU. These countries share 50% in aggregate. They also are the biggest exporters within European countries.

According to predictions till 2016 demand for potato flour, meal, flakes and pellets on the EU market will increase by 1.5-2% annually by average corresponding to GDP trends.
