CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. Ltd. Announces Q3 Results According to BAC Report

LONDON – October 26th CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. announced its Q3 results. Highlights comparing to Q3 2010:
- consolidated net sales increased by 5% to USD 3.9 B
- operating EBITDA increased by 1% to USD 658 M
- Net sales in Mexico decreased 1% to USD 856 M
- US operations reported net sales of USD 713 M (up 4%)
- in Northern Europe, net sales rose by 9% to USD 1.30 B
- in the Mediterranean region net sales were USD 424 M (5% lower)
- operations in South/Central America and the Caribbean reported net sales of USD 453 M (an increase of 24%)
- in Asia net sales increased by 5% and amounted to USD 130 M
Higher sales in Northern Europe, South/Central America and the Caribbean, and the United States brought total sales increase. Main driving force for company’s market appeared to be the infrastructure and residential sectors.
Cemex annual performance is weak, with decreasing trend in main indicators. Thus, revenue and net income fell by 22% and 163% respectively, and amounted to MXN 178.3 B and MXN (16.5) B respectively. The company is to commit restructure and change business strategy in order to regain profitability.
