Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Runs Among the Leaders in World LAN Chip Market According to BAC Report

LONDON - Realtek controls 50% of the world LAN chip market. In Taiwan it is ranked 13 of 64 semiconductors companies listed at SE, and has market capitalization TWD 25.3 B. Realtek is also the third profitable IC company in Taiwan after VIA and Mediatek. Worldwide it is known as one of top-20 IC design houses, holding 60% market share in Network IC. LCD monitor manufacturers like Lite-On Technology, BenQ, Jean Technology, or Amtran Technology, use Realtek SOC controller chips. ½ of all computers on the planet carry Realtek NICs inside. Two-thirds of all computers have Realtek IC enabling audio.
Realtek financial performance is solid, main indices improve year over year. Thus, in Q2 2011 revenue and net income increased by 17.4% and 125.8% respectively comparing to Q1 2011. The year is expected to be prosperous, just like 2010.
Year over year, the company adds to its product portfolio and customers base, increasing revenues. So, in the last four years the index grew by 41% and amounted to TWD 22282.9 M in 2010. Realtek is expected to remain profitable and gain larger market share.
