A Gyro Power Supply is a dedicated power-conversion subsystem that provides multiple regulated outputs for ring laser gyroscopes (RLGs), fiber-optic gyroscopes (FOGs) and their associated electronics, and is often integrated within the gyro assembly or INS chassis. For gas-laser RLGs, the supply must deliver the high-voltage DC or RF excitation needed for the He–Ne discharge, while simultaneously powering the dither motor drive, path-length control, active current control, and signal-conditioning circuitry via multiple low-voltage regulated rails. For FOGs and modern digital RLGs, the emphasis is on tightly regulated low-voltage rails such as ±5 V and +15 V and on managing inrush current at startup. Such power supplies require ultra-low ripple and noise, high stability, wide temperature and vibration tolerance, and in many high-end products are packaged together with the gyro sensor and electronics into a single inertial measurement unit designed and integrated by the manufacturer.

On the upstream side, gyro power supplies depend on high-reliability power semiconductors, high-voltage transformers and magnetics, precision capacitors and resistors, military-grade PCBs and connectors, as well as customized DC/DC or RF power modules from power-electronics vendors. The midstream is dominated by gyro and inertial-navigation manufacturers, who design the power architectures, integrate them into RLG/FOG IMUs and INS units, and qualify them through environmental testing. Downstream consumption tracks deployments of high-end inertial systems in military aircraft, naval vessels, missiles and launch vehicles, as well as oil and gas exploration, marine engineering and advanced industrial platforms; typically each multi-axis gyro assembly is supported by at least one dedicated power supply, so new INS deliveries drive incremental demand, while long-term maintenance and spares create a steady replacement market.
