Fresh from a change of senior management, software configuration management (SCM) specialist vendor Serena Software is going back to basics. After a string of disappointing quarters dating back to the Silver Lake Partners acquisition, the company is re-emphasizing its core software configuration and change management (SCCM) business. Although it is not discontinuing newer offerings such as Serena Business Mashups (SBM), these will be re-targeted to support Serena’s core business and adjacent markets.
