Capita
Capita continues its domination of the UK BPO market with several big contract wins, along with acquisitions that have boosted its scale and scope of offerings. With BPO revenues of ?1.64 billion, Capita is more than ?1 billion ahead of second-ranked Xchanging in Ovum’s UK & Ireland BPO rankings, establishing it as the clear UK BPO market leader.
Capita continues to develop its UK market base, recognizing that much of the UK’s BPO growth potential lies in shaping opportunities with clients at an early stage and thereby assisting it to outperform the wider market. In addition, a keen focus on profitable growth and a strong track record of renewals ensures Capita’s continued success.
Much of the strategy is driven by Capita’s desire to gain a larger share of the wallet from new and existing customers. This means expanding its portfolio of offerings in areas such as IT, software and network services through small or niche acquisitions that give Capita extra capability and capacity across its chosen markets.
Its acquisition in March 2010 of Ramesys, a key player in the UK education services market, is clearly aligned with this thinking. It will expand Capita’s capability in software and IT services to the schools sector, and help it broaden its scope with the long-term Building Schools for the Future (BSF) ICT program.
