In November 2009, Adtran expanded its GPON Optical Network Terminals product portfolio within the Total Access 5000 platform to include MDU versions and RF and HomePNA support. The additional features strengthened the small but growing portfolio, although portfolio breadth remains considerably behind that of the GPON market leaders. However, Adtran’s GPON capabilities on the Total Access 5000 platform have already snared a number of wins in the US tier-2/tier-3 market, which Adtran now specifically targets with a separate sales force.
