This study was was compiled by STOCHASIS Management Consultancy S.A. and aims to reflect the current state of the market of the mining and quarrying companies in Greece and to examine its prospects, while presenting information on the international market.

More specifically, the first five chapters of the study feature information on the mining and quarrying companies, which refer to general characteristics, the institutional framework, the demand, the offer and the size of the industry. In the sixth chapter of the study we will present information on the relevant market internationally, with emphasis on EU-27. Finally, we will present the conclusions and the prospects of the market, as well as an annex with selected financial indicators of major enterprises.

The current study examines the passenger shipping and specifically the shipping lines,the seaport lines and the Greece-Italy lines.

The examined market is estimated in €1.080m for 2013, recording decrease 4,4% compared to 2012, with the Average Annual Rate of Change (AARC), developing a negative figure (-7,4%) during the period of 2008-2013.

The three largest groups of companies hold the 55% of the market in value. It is estimated that in 2014, the sector’s progress will go upward and will develop in to a level of approximately 5%.
