VIETNAM ANIMAL FEED INDUSTRY

Animal feed is an important link to the development of the livestock industry, which is considered as a solution to ensure food security worldwide. In 2018, the poultry feed production maintained the leading position with a market share of 41.45%, but decreased by 1.9% compared to the previous year.

In Q1/2019, Vietnam's livestock feed production increased by 5.4% compared to the same period of 2018 since the domestic and foreign enterprises increased investment and expanded production. The consumption value of animal feed industry in Q1/2019 increased by 30.38% compared to the same period of 2018.

In the first 3 months of 2019, the animal feed exports rose by 7.5% compared to the same period of 2018, accounting for 0.23% of the total export turnover of the whole country, of which Southeast Asia was the main export market, accounting for 38% of the proportion.

According to USDA forecasts, the total demand for animal feed in Vietnam in 2019 will increase by 3% compared to 2018. In the long term, it is forecast that Vietnam's feed market will reach xx.xx billion USD before 2022 and achieve a growth rate of 13-15% per year in the period of 2016-2020.
