Gas Processing Projects

Chiyoda excels at integrating diverse elements into an overall plan that best matches clients' needs - High Production Capacity / Quality / On-stream Factor / Maintainability, Minimum Total Life Cycle Cost and Fast-track Schedule while placing first priority in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and the local sustainable development. The company has invaluable experience in all phases of has processing projects from feasibility studies through planning, design to financing in addition to overseeing large-scale gas processing projects such as NGL/LNG projects.

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Projects

Baseload LNG projects completed by the company are currently producing more than 33 million ton per annum (mtpa). In addition, Chiyoda engages in Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) or Project Specification (PS) works by major LNG projects to bring measurable benefits to investors. Chiyoda is also a contractor of LNG receiving terminals, having been involved in extensive LNG receiving terminal projects mainly in Japan. Chiyoda continues to develop the start-of-the-art technology, design and project execution in gas processing and LNG chain to enable investors to create viable gas/LNG trade schemes in competitive and changing markets.

Synthesis Gas

Chiyoda has engineered and built many plants, as is proven by its 60% share of Japanese hydrogen plant construction. As Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC), Gas to Liquids (GTL), and Gas to Chemicals (GTC) become prevalent, demand for larger-scale, economical synthesis gas plants should arise. Chiyoda constantly works to develop innovative catalysts and furnace technologies, which enable longer and more stable operation in severe conditions at high temperatures and pressures.

Chemicals

The Company’s chemical plants help convert natural resources such as gas or oil into the materials that are easily turned into end products. The engineering and construction of chemical plants requires a vast storehouse of technical know-how. Chiyoda has accomplishments in various processes, including ethylene, propylene and its derivatives, C4/C5 distillates for synthetic rubber, aromatics related to paint and detergent or fiber materials, high performance polymers such as engineering plastics, and fine chemicals.

Petroleum Refining

The company’s expertise runs from initial business development, detailed feasibility studies, front-end engineering package development, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction, to final commissioning, start-up, and operation and maintenance services. The company’s track record includes grassroots, expansion and revamp projects.

Some of the company’s solid accomplishments include developing new technology and commercializing licensed technologies. Examples of commercialization include residuum desulfurization process (RDS) and vacuum residuum desulfurization process (VRDS) plants.
