In many cases, multi-vendor providers also offer centralized call-center functions, asset utilization analytics, contract consolidation and harmonized documentation to standardize qualification and compliance reporting across platforms and sites. For the end user, the model is intended to simplify vendor management, reduce downtime, optimize total cost of ownership, and mitigate the risk of dependence on a single OEM, while still meeting stringent requirements from regulators and quality systems in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, clinical diagnostics, chemicals, food and academic research.
