Price level of pork kept rising in the first half of 2015, which increased meat product manufacturers’ cost. In result of living pigs decrease and pig slaughtering decrease as well, pig slaughtering cost increased. Businesses produced processed meat products instead of fresh pork, as pork contributes fewer profits; however, the sales of processed meat products slow businesses’ profits down.

Besides sales of meat products drop, the domestic consumption of meat is dropping. Chinese Meat Association showed, consumption of meat per person increasing slow since 2005. Chinese processed meat products output was 14 million tons in 2014, account for 16.63% of total meat output. There are 1704 mid-large size meat product processing companies, 156 of them are in deficit; the total financial deficit is ?760 million.
