Global Synthetic Inositol Market 2026 by Manufacturers, Regions, Type and Application, Forecast to 2032
According to our (Global Info Research) latest study, the global Synthetic Inositol market size was valued at US$ 37.29 million in 2025 and is forecast to a readjusted size of US$ 55.12 million by 2032 with a CAGR of 5.8% during review period.
In 2025, sales of synthetic inositol reached 4,101 tons, with an average price of $8,837 per ton.
Synthetic inositol refers to an industrially produced product that converts simple carbon sources (glucose, glycerol, maltodextrin, etc.) into inositol in one step through chemical or biocatalytic means, without using phytic acid. Unlike the traditional "phytic acid hydrolysis-inositol" process, it features readily available raw materials, low pollution, and high stereoselectivity.
The mainstream process uses food-grade glucose (or glycerol) as the sole carbon source, employing a three-step enzymatic cascade reaction: glucose ? glucose-6-phosphate ? inositol-1-phosphate ? inositol. The entire process requires no high-pressure acid hydrolysis, and the only byproduct is inorganic phosphorus. The glucose consumption is approximately 3.2 t/t inositol. In terms of raw material costs, glucose accounts for 45-50%, enzyme preparations (inositol-1-phosphate synthase, etc.) for 15-20%, fermentation energy consumption and membrane separation for 15%, and manual, environmental, and GMP refining costs for 15-20%.
