LIST OF TABLES

Table 1: Sales by the world’s top 40 roll goods producers, 2012

LONDON – Following the 2008-2009 economic downtown, the nonwovens industry started to recover and even develop successfully as the years went by. As of now, in 2013, the total nonwoven market is estimated at just over USD 33 billion. Moving forward, the sector is primed to develop continuously, posting an annual growth of some 7 to 7.5 per cent in the oncoming years, driven by durability, sustainability, functionality and cost-efficient production of nonwovens.

The demand for nonwoven fabrics is strongest in Asia, especially in China. However, the market recovery is happening in every nook and cranny of the world. The nonwovens market in the United States shows promise for the future as well. The main market in South America, Brazil, was impacted by the financial crunch to a lesser degree. In the West European region, the investment climate remains being held back by the crisis that is somewhat lingering on there. Germany, though, is showing extremely good recovery.
