VIETNAM TEXTILE AND APPAREL INDUSTRY
The world textile and apparel industry is deeply influenced by macroeconomic fluctuations. China is the world's largest textile and apparel factory with a complete supply chain and advantages of machinery as well as cheap labor. In 2018, the scale of global textile and apparel revenue was estimated at 1,438.6 million USD.
The textile and apparel industry is one of Vietnam's key industries, whose export turnover ranks second with the export value contributing from 10-15% to GDP. In recent years, the textile and apparel industry has continuously developed with an average rate of 17% a year.
In Q1/2019, the fiber production output in the whole country increased 32.6% over the same period in 2017, in which the synthetic and natural fibers production accounted for nearly 90%. The estimated consumption volume rose about 20.14% over 2017.
In Q1/2019, the apparel production increased 8.9% over the same period in 2018 due to the positive growth in exports from export orders to many large countries such as the US, Japan and South Korea. The textile and apparel exports in Q1/2019 increased 10.6% over the same period in 2018.
It is forecast that Vietnam's textile and apparel export turnover may reach xxx billion USD by 2025 thanks to FTAs. Along with that, Vietnam also faces many difficulties and challenges when having to comply with rules of origin, labor standards, strict requirements on social responsibility, ecological labels, environmental protection...

In Q1/2019, the apparel production increased 8.9% over the same period in 2018 due to the positive growth in exports from export orders to many large countries such as the US, Japan and South Korea. The textile and apparel exports in Q1/2019 increased 10.6% over the same period in 2018.
It is forecast that Vietnam's textile and apparel export turnover may reach xxx billion USD by 2025 thanks to FTAs. Along with that, Vietnam also faces many difficulties and challenges when having to comply with rules of origin, labor standards, strict requirements on social responsibility, ecological labels, environmental protection...
