On 14 Feb., 2017, the 20th Jiangsu Pesticides and Sprayer Facilities Information & Technology Exchange Meeting was held in Nanjing City, during which the Jiangsu Crop Protection Station disclosed that the total pesticide consumption in Jiangsu is planned to reach 76500 tonnes in 2017, down 500 tonnes YoY, despite the estimated trend of heavier pest & disease occurrence.

In recent years, thresholds for pesticide production have been raised significantly, with many application for market access declined and lists of enterprises who volunteered to abandon pesticide production qualification publicised. Rather, the state encourages large-scale enterprises to make M&A to integrate market resources.
A significant upward trend was witnessed in the exports of fungicide formulations from China, with rises in both export volume and value.
A total of 16 pesticide technical were registered by global top 20 multinational agrochemical corporations in China in 2016, including 6 herbicides, 5 insecticides and 5 fungicides, according to the CCPIA and the ICAMA.
In Jan. 2017, five fungicide technical registration certificates were issued to five pesticide producers, according to the ICAMA. Particularly, methiadinil TC was registered for the first time in China.
At the very beginning of 2017, Chen Youquan, deputy director of Department of Crop Protection, MOC, gave a brief introduction to the key work of pesticide management in 2017.
