Saudi Kayan Seeks Revised Bids for LDPE Plant

Sabic subsidiary Saudi Kayan Petrochemical has asked contractors to revise their bids for the construction of a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
The Kayan complex will produce 5.6 million t/y of petrochemical products, according to Reuters.
The due date for submitting the revised bids is 5 December, and the contracts will be awarded between December and January 2010, sources said.
Indian firm Punj Lloyd's UK unit Simon Carves has been awarded the LDPE project as a fixed-price services contract.
