Restart of Polimeri Europa’s 150,000 tpa LDPE plant in Italy delayed
12 Oct 2009 • by Natalie Aster
Polimeri Europa’s 150,000 tpa low density polyethylene (LDPE) plant at Gela has been shut since September last week for technical reasons. Restart of the Italian plant has been delayed by 10 days to 20 October.
As per ICIS, LDPE prices lost €15-20/ton in early October as the new monthly ethylene contract fell by €15/ton. However, the markets are estimated to be firmer due to reduced availability. LDPE spot prices have stablised in a wide range, trading at €950-1,000/ton FD (free delivery) NWE (northwest Europe).
