BASF to Increase Price for BDO and BDO-derivatives in Europe

Effective October 1, 2009, or as existing contracts permit, BASF SE will increase its European selling prices for the following products:
- 1,4 Butanediol (BDO) +150 EUR/mt
- Tetrahydrofuran (THF) +100 EUR/mt
- Polytetramethylene ether glycol (PolyTHF®) +100 EUR/mt
- N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP) +100 EUR/mt
- Gamma Butyrolactone (GBL) +100 EUR/mt
According to BASF, the price adjustment is related to unsatisfactory margins and is necessary to ensure that BASF can continue to offer quality products and services to its customers.
