PENTACARD® Rigid Recyled Vinyl Core Films Now Available from Klockner Pentaplast

GORDONSVILLE, Virginia -- The Pentacard® film line has been expanded to include two new rigid recycled vinyl core films, Pentacard® CC-M478/07 (35% recycled-content film) and CCM478/ 17 (65% recycled-content film) for all secure and non-secure card applications. These films offer a sustainable alternative approach to plastic recycling through a secured customer return process. Film scrap generated by the card manufacturer, which would otherwise be discarded, is sent to Klockner Pentaplast for use in the production of their next order. This closed-loop recycling ensures that the quality and, therefore, performance of the film, remains consistent. These new recycled-content films are available in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico and are ideal for financial transaction cards.

With options such as the use of recycled content and renewable materials, kp helps customers choose the material that is right for their card application, targeting total lowest cost based on material price, performance, and sustainability considerations. These films are offered in 7.5 to 30 mil thickness with a matte/matte surface. These Pentacard® recycled-content vinyl films have virtually the same performance characteristics as standard rigid vinyl films, such as dimensional stability, flex, and embossing height retention.

"Protecting the environment is everyone's concern. We strive to produce film products for the card market that enhance quality of life and are protective of our earth's resources, while assisting our customers in achieving their sustainability goals," notes Tom Mucenski, Klockner Pentaplast's business manager for card films. "The expansion of our product range to include these films along with our existing vinyl, PETG, PS, PP, and PLA film lines, continues to provide our customers with the broadest available selection of films to meet all of their plastic card substrate needs."
