China to Have Largest Number of 4G Subscriptions in APAC by 2018, States Westward Research in Its Report Available at MarketPublishers.com

LONDON – The past decade saw mobile subscriptions continue to grow considerably. The main reason for the growth globally over the last 5-7 years is the uptake in developing economies, mainly China and India, which captures close to 30% of the world’s total mobile subscriptions and over 50% of the mobile subscriptions in developing nations.

By 2018, China is expected to have the biggest number of 4G subscriptions, with India following after. As of 2016, 22 novel LTE networks were activated across the region, leading to an increase in the overall number of the region’s live LTE networks to 106 in March 2017. There are also close to 36 live LTE-A networks in 18 countries of the region. VoLTE services are also live on 34 networks across 15 countries. The region is also likely to see 71 4G LTE networks deployed over the next couple of years.

In spite of the fact that Australia, Japan and South Korea took the lead amid the region’s other countries with respect to 4G penetration, the region is also poised to observe enhanced 4G penetration propelled by the outstripping growth across Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, India, Myanmar, among others.
