Iran Telecom Services Revenue to Register 0.4% CAGR through 2020, According to Pyramid Research Report Available at MarketPublishers.com

25 Jul 2016 • by Natalie Aster

LONDON – The revenue of the Iranian telecommunications services industry declined 1.6% YoY to USD 6.5 billion in 2015. Through to 2020, the country’s telecommunications services revenue is projected to record 0.4% CAGR, with the fixed Internet and mobile data segments acting as the main growth engines.

Mobile revenue is set to grab a greater share of the total telecom services revenue by 2020.

The domestic telecom marketplace will likely be led by the Telecommunication Company of Iran (TCI) as the top fixed-line and mobile operator, with MTN Irancell following after.

To withstand the severe competition in the industry and offset a decrease in voice services, operators are aiming efforts at enhancing network infrastructure to boost broadband coverage in the country and seeking novel revenue streams like IoT/M2M. After the international sanctions had been lifted, the government and operators began boosting their investments in the expansions of 3G, 4G and fiber networks.

New study “Iran: Lifting of International Sanctions and Operator Investments in 4G and FTTx to Drive Growth” created by Pyramid Research gives a comprehensive assessment of the market on a national level. The report provides an analysis of the telecom market size and trends in Iran versus other countries in the Asia and the Middle East region. It reviews the country’s demographic, economic and political landscape. The study covers the regulatory environment and agenda for the coming 18-24 months along with respective developments. It offers an analysis and historical data and forecasts of service revenue generated from the key telecom market segments; takes a look at the changes in the break-up of the overall revenue. The research canvasses the competitive scenario, and scrutinises the service providers’ performance, projected moves and market shares by revenue. In-depth sector analysis is available, too. Furthermore, the report identifies the major opportunities for the key players in the domestic telecom marketplace.
