Macy’s Received Award for Diversity of Board of Directors

LONDON – Macy’s, Inc. has recently been presented the Muriel F. Siebert Leadership Award for remarkable diversity of the company’s board of directors by the Women’s Forum of New York. At present, there are 6 women among 14 members in the company’s board of directors. Terry J. Lundgren, the chief executive officer and the chairman of the company, accepted this prestigious award.  

Macy's, Inc. is one of the nation’s premier retailers. The company provides a range of services via the Internet under two brand names, Macy's and Bloomingdale's. The company sells a wide range of apparel and accessories for men, women and children, cosmetics, home furnishings and other goods. The company also operates seven Bloomingdale's outlet stores. Macy’s operates about 900 stores in 45 states.

In FY 2014, its revenue increased by 0.62% and exceeded USD 28 billion compared to the previous year. The company’s gross profit also registered positive growth, and increased from USD 11.2 billion in FY 2013 to slightly over USD 11.24 billion in FY 2014. The Macy’s operating income rose by 3.92% YoY and went beyond USD 2.78 billion; and the net income exceeded 1.52 billion.
