Greek Telecom Marketplace Discussed by Pyramid Research in New Report Published at MarketPublishers.com

24 Jun 2015 • by Natalie Aster

LONDON – By 2015-end, the telecommunications services industry in Greece is expected to generate USD 5.6 billion in revenue (which equals just under 3% of nominal gross domestic product), down 23.2% in U.S. dollar terms as against the year before. The revenue from the voice sector is projected to decrease further, amounting to USD 3.9 billion in 2015, which is less by USD 1.26 billion compared to 2014.

Greek’s telecommunications market is heading towards integration of mobile and fixed segments, which is Vodafone's intention to acquire 100% of Hellas Online SA in 2015 (from its share capital of 72.7% as of 2014). Further market integration is poised to take place in case Vodafone and Wind Hellas's bid to buy small domestic telco Forthnet is a success.

As the cellular providers are focused on the upgrades of their mobile networks alongside the expansion of their fixed network equipment through NGN and LTE deployment, the market is expected to see positive growth in the offing.

New report “Greece: Telecom Market Heads Toward Integration of Mobile and Fixed Segments amid Tough Economic Conditions” created by Pyramid Research examines the Greek mobile and fixed telecommunications sector.

The study draws up the demographic, economic and political picture in Greece; provides insights into the national telecom market size and trends as compared to the region’s other countries; gives an overview of the regulatory setting and developments. The report provides an all-round overview of the competitive landscape with coverage of prevalent trends in competition and in the performance, market shares (by revenue), and prospective developments of key cellular providers during the next 18-24 months. The research publication includes an exhaustive analysis (plus historical and forecast data) of service revenue generated by each of the market sectors; looks at the changes in the breakdown of overall revenue among the sectors. An in-depth discussion of the key opportunities in the marketplace is included, too.
