LONDON – The Chinese market for home appliances recorded revenues of USD 170 billion in September, 2014; representing YoY growth of 10.9% since January till September, 2014. Meantime, operating profits increased by 19.1% from the previous year and reached nearly USD 6.55 billion.

The Chinese home appliances sales volumes recorded strong growth within January-September, 2014; with sales ration accounting for 96.8%, a YoY drop of 0.4%. The accumulated export value rose by 4.8% from the previous year and achieved USD 42.3 billion.

The production volume of refrigerators in China registered YoY growth of 1.9% over the reviewed period, and amounted to approximately 73.9 million. The output of air conditioners accounted for 122.9 million in September, 2014; an upturn of 13.4% from the previous year; whilst the washing machines production totaled 50.9 million, a YoY decrease of 3.8%.
