Polish Dietary Supplements Sector Examined by PMR in In-demand Research Report Published at MarketPublishers.com

16 May 2014 • by Natalie Aster

LONDON – In 2012, Poland’s market for dietary supplements reported positive YoY growth – nearly 2%, mainly due to a substantial increase in the non-pharmacy sector. In 2013, the retail sales of dietary supplements (including non-pharmacy outlets, online stores and pharmacies) in the country increased 9% YoY in terms of value. In the same year, the sales in the non-pharmacy channel in Poland grew 16% YoY.

The growth rate is expected to decline in 2014 due to a smaller number of flu and cold cases alongside high base effect. From 2015 to 2018, the Polish dietary supplements market is poised for growth by around 9-10% YoY. Sales in the non-pharmacy sector are expected to grow more dynamically than sales in the pharmacy sector in the forthcoming years on the back of fewer legal limitations. Sales in the pharmacy sector are being held back by the ban on pharmacy advertising. Robust growth in the Polish dietary supplements market is forecast to be spurred by real salaries growth, progressive economic recovery and also a drop in unemployment rate.
