Aggreko plc to Source Power at 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil According to BAC Report

LONDON – In December 2013 Aggreko plc has was selected to source power for 2014 FIFA World Cup matches broadcasting. The 64 games will take place in twelve host cities, and Aggreko is to provide temporary power for all of them. Additionally, the company will supply power and temperature control for the Brazilian facility of International Broadcast Centre, located in Rio de Janeiro.
Recent years Aggreko was heavily investing into its Latin America infrastructure, and these spending are about to pay off. 200 km of electric cables, 1000 distribution panels and 46 megawatts of generating capacity will be provided by the enterprise for those 12 cities. Acquisition of Poit Energia, Brazil largest power-rental business, was a timely and strategic purchase for Aggreko. The company has turned the region into USD 400 million cash cow, and this number is to increase in future.
Being the world leader in its chosen business fields, Aggreko continues to improve its results. The results for FY2012 are strong. Revenue increased by 13% to GBP 1.6 B, gross profit added 19% and comprised GBP 973 M, operating income grew by 14% to GBP 392 M, net income scored GBP 276 M which is a 6% increase. For the first half of 2013, revenue and gross profit recorded GBP 760 M and GBP 448 M, respectively; operating and net income comprised GBP 157 M and GBP 105 M, respectively.
Regionally, Americas is the largest revenue bringer with 42% share. Europe, Middle East and Africa generated 36% of total revenues, Asia, Pacific and Australia contributed 22%. Among business segments Local Business is the largest: it brought 57% of all revenues in H1 2013. Power Projects excl. pass-through fuel segment carried in 41%, and Pass-through fuel segment added 2%.
