Passenger Car Market Sales Status in China Analysed in In-Demand CRI Report Now Available at MarketPublishers.com

04 Jun 2013 • by Natalie Aster

LONDON – China’s automotive market continues to be on the increase in terms of both production and sales volumes which had the world lead during the period 2009-2012. Passenger cars constitute the most important part of the national auto market, making up close to 80.3% of the total volume of sales. In 2012, passenger cars sales grew at a rate higher than average (by nearly 7.1% Y-o-Y), to reach 15.4952 million units.

As foreign auto enterprises far exceed local auto producers, Sino-foreign brand passenger cars lead China’s passenger vehicle market, with their sales comprising nearly 60% of the total sales volume as of 2012. However, various car series performed differently in the Chinese market. While the sales volumes of Japanese series passenger cars declined, those of German, the U.S. and Korean series all posted a 10% increase.
