Europe MNO Trends Discussed in New Tariff Consultancy Report Published at MarketPublishers.com

16 Apr 2012 • by Natalie Aster

LONDON – MNO mobile penetration levels increased by over 100% across almost all of the 8 countries reviewed, with Sweden having the highest MNO penetration rate of 157% followed by Italy with 147%.

Almost all of the 29 MNOs surveyed saw subscriber growth over the 12-month period to the end of December 2011. But some 5 MNOs such as Vodafone (Italy), Everything Everywhere (UK), KPN (Netherlands), Movistar (Spain) and Telefonica O2 (UK) saw falls in subscriber numbers year on year, mainly due to a policy of managing out dormant or so-called low value pre pay accounts by the MNO in favour of pay monthly subscribers.

New research report “Mobile Network Operator's Trends in Europe” developed by Tariff Consultancy tracks and analyzes key metrics of subscriber figures, ARPU and churn in addition to an in-depth analysis on the key new product and pricing initiatives launched by the 29 MNOs operating in 8 European countries – France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK, during the period June 2011 to December 2011.
