LONDON – Last year, the global coating market hit about USD 90 billion and is expected to grow about 10% to USD 99 billion in 2011. Building decorative coating is the largest application area, accounting for approximately 45% of the total market. This is followed by vehicle coating, making up roughly 15%, and protective & marine coating (PMC), accounting for about 12%. General industrial coating stands at roughly 10%, followed by powder coating, wood coating, coil coating, packaging coating, etc.
