De La Rue plc Secures Its Biggest Order According to BAC Report

LONDON – In September De La Rue announced that it secured its biggest contract for Visa holograms ever. Since 1990 the company is an accredited supplier of holograms for Visa, but the current order takes first place in volume nomination. The first batch shipped in September amounted to 20 million units, and the following lots are even larger. This deal proves company’s ability to expand in holograms market. Cutting-edge security technologies together with 200 customers from 4 market sectors give a good growth platform.
De La Rue financial performance is still. No significant changes in main indices can be notes in last periods or years, though net income revealed decreasing trend. Thus, in March 2008 it amounted to GBP 88.1 M, and in March 2011 it turned into GBP 66.9 M. Revenue in 2008 was GBP 467 M, and in 2011 it equaled GBP 463.9 M.
Interim results show similar picture. While revenue didn’t change significantly (GBP 209.2 M in September 2010, GBP 254.7 M in March 2011), net income fell to zero. In March 2011 it brought GBP 0.8 M against GBP 66.1 M in the previous period.
Founded in 1821 and headquartered in Basingstoke (UK), De La Rue engages in design, development, manufacture and distribution of cash sorting equipment, bank software solutions, money printing and money security technologies. Since 1947 the company trades at London Stock Exchange.
