Delachaux SA Goes West According to BAC Report

LONDON - Railroad is Delachaux main business sector, generating 60% of all company’s revenues. Delachaux can choose to expand this segment due to high prospective of railroad industry development. Demand for freight transportation is expected to double by 2035. If present market trend remains, railroads will show an 88% increase in tonnage in the next 25 years. For example, North American Railroad Passenger Company Amtrak, with ridership of more than 28 million passengers in 2010, sees those numbers rise to 60 million by 2050 (a 114% increase). A highly profitable North American region (comprising 23% of Delachaux sales) is going to become even more profitable.
Delachaux shows solid performance in 2011. For Q2 revenues rose by 14.4% and amounted to EUR 415.4 M. Gross profit, operating income and net income also went up. FY2010 was a success for Delachaux. With revenue and net income reaching EUR 718.9 M and EUR 68.3 M respectively, the company announced its recovery from financial slowdown at the AGM. Railway segment has increased revenue by 8.1% to EUR 429 M. United States was one of the countries that contributed the most.
