Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) is a thermoplastic produced by chlorination of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin which is significantly more flexible and can withstand higher temperatures than standard PVC. CPVC is characterized by heat resistance which has been improved by 20 to 40°C without harming PVC's physical and chemical properties. CPVC can be used in applications under high temperatures, where general purpose PVC would soften, rendering it useless. Owing to this enhanced heat resistant property, CPVC applications include hot and cold water pipes, and industrial liquid handling.

CPVC production, which measures output worldwide, was expected to reach 392 k tons in 2016 with an increase of 11.36% from its year-earlier level. The global CPVC market size is estimated to grow from USD 533.55 million in 2011 to USD 781.94 million by 2016, at an estimated CAGR of 7.94% between 2011 and 2016. With regards to this, key players of CPVC industry are expected to find potential opportunities in this market.
