Methodology

This 55-page report was researched during the month of July and August 2011 with information gathered through primary and secondary research.

Sources of information included but not limited to:
  • existing external research analyst reports and presentations
  • financial reports from operators
  • fixed and mobile providers’ websites.
  • directly from operators.
Overall, the report presents the analysis of the research findings collected from 6 incumbent fixed operators (except for ISP in Kuwait and Egypt) and all mobile network operators (15 in total) offering services in the GCC region.

Additionally, we include prices for services in 4 other countries namely Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and the UK in order to draw a comparison of rates charged in the GCC region with countries outside the region. In order to facilitate the analysis of the findings, a matrix was produced to include all qualitative and quantitative information for each of the service providers fixed and mobile services covered in the report. Where available, the following information has been collected, analysed and compared.
  1. Geographical coverage
    • Countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE (plus Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and the UK)
