The preamplified mercury cadmium telluride (MCT) detector is an infrared detection component that integrates a HgCdTe (mercury cadmium telluride, MCT) photon detector with a low-noise preamplifier circuit in the same package or module. It combines the wide-band, high-sensitivity detection capability of MCT material with the instant amplification capability of a preamplifier for weak signals. It is used to amplify and impedance match the weak current/charge output of the detector at the source end, significantly improving the system's signal-to-noise ratio, anti-interference capability, and available bandwidth. It is especially suitable for long cable, weak signal, and high-speed measurement scenarios, and is applied in fields such as national defense, aerospace, and scientific research. The upstream of the industry chain includes high-purity Hg/Cd/Te raw materials and substrates (CdZnTe, etc.), HgCdTe epitaxial growth (MBE/LPE, etc.) and device fabrication, low-noise operational amplifiers/precision resistors and capacitors and power management, TEC/temperature control and (more advanced) microcrystals, infrared window/lens materials (such as ZnSe, etc.) and packaging materials; the midstream includes detector manufacturing, packaging, debugging, calibration and reliability testing; the downstream connects with instrument manufacturers (spectroscopy/metrology/gas analysis), system integrators, research and aerospace institutions and high-end industrial customers. Gross profit margin is approximately 25%–50%.
