KEC International is part of USD 3.7bn RPG Group. KEC is the largest player in the power transmission EPC business with over 35% market share in revenue terms. The company also takes up EPC contract for power distribution, substations, railways and telecom projects. Its offering include design & engineering, tower testing, satellite & GPRS surveys and hotline stringing services. The clients of KEC are spread across the globe and it gives its EPC services in more than 40 counties. KEC Global FZ LLC (UAE) and RPG Transmission Nigeria Ltd. (Nigeria) are the subsidiaries of the company. Apart from this, SAE Towers is a wholly owned subsidiary of KEC, which it acquired in Sep. 2010. The joint ventures of KEC are (i) Hilltop Infrastructure Inc. (USA), (ii) KEC Power India Pvt. Ltd. and (iii) AL-Sharif Group and KEC Co. Ltd.
The transmission and telecom towers manufacturing facilities of the company are located in Jabalpur, Jaipur and Nagpur. After the acquisition of SAE Towers, the annual tower manufacturing capacity of the company stood at 311,000MT. KEC manufactures high tension power cables in its Thane plant and low tension power cables in Silvassa plant. It produces telecom & railway cables are in Mysore plant.
KEC has four tower testing stations capable of testing towers upto 1200kV transmission lines. These facilities are located in Nagpur, Mumbai, Jabalpur and Jaipur. KEC’s Nagpur testing station is Asia’s largest tower testing station. It is capable to test all types of towers. The company has a design & engineering facility with latest technologies. It is fully equipped to provide computerized engineering solutions, 3D analysis and design for optimizing steel usage. It also provides substation design solutions.
